Meet me...

Jennie Routley Profile Picture

I am a digital artist and designer, working in web development, print media and animation.

If you have a project that needs some creative injection then that’s where I come in!

I specialise in web usability and accessibility. I build clean hand coded sites that are not only attractive and creative they are also functional and usable. My aim is to bring your website to life and create an interactive user experience that communicates your message and identity.

My web development process...

1 Discovery & Analysis

I research other companies similar to your own, and your user profile in order to come up with the goals of the design and creative strategy.

2 Information Design

I will prepare an initial set of mock ups (wireframes) that fit in with your user profile and the requirements of the site. This includes planning of the navigation and how the user will interact with your site.

3 Visual Design

Once we are satisfied with the wireframes of the site layout I move on to creating final visual mock ups. You provide feedback based on these, and I make revisions, supplying you with new visual mock ups. We continue this cycle of amended mock ups and revisions until we're all happy.

4 Technical Design & Coding

Once the design is finalised I will hand code your site in XHTML, CSS and javascript and check the site across a number of browsers.

5 Content Management System (CMS)

If you would like to be able to include a blog or latest news section and update your content yourself, or be able to add pages to your site for yourself, then you will need a CMS. Wordpress is my CMS of choice. It is easy for you to use and is well known by other web developers. We carry out this part of the process after the initial technical development is complete.

6 Content Entry

You supply us with your final text and pictures to be included in the site. If you are choosing to have a CMS the additional cost can usually be offset by entering your own content. Clients often find that they make many revisions to their text content while refining their site in the run up to launch. Although I do these as quickly and cheaply as I can, many clients prefer to avoid inevitable extra costs and delays. If you'd like to make use of a professional proof reader at this stage we can arrange this for you at a very reasonable rate.

6 Launch

After everything is coded up and implemented successfully we do a review to make sure it all looks and works the way it should and make any necessary tweaks. Your site can now either be placed on our servers and revealed to the world, or I can supply final files for you to use with your own host.
